Culture and New Humanities

Centered on the following problematics: Memory and Identity in media condition; Representation as a process;  Intersections of Culture, Information, Interaction and Interface Design. Far from being restrictive, these themes are a framework that facilitates the coordination of thematic projects, as well as the dynamic synergy and interaction between team members.

 

Ethics and Politics

The common themes and problems that define the field of intervention in this thematic line covers three major transversal areas: the problems of democracy today; political sphere and media; ethics and public space.

 

Information, Media and Society

Focusing on two main issues that have been assuming, in contemporary democratic societies, an increasing theoretical and practical relevance: democracy's crisis and the media's function in that crisis; the media's role in the scientific-artistic-cultural creation process developed by the so-called "Digital Humanities".
